All Nintendo Switch 2 Games With Exclusive Features—Mouse Controls, Gyro & Upgraded Games

The Nintendo Switch 2 received a proper reveal during yesterday’s Direct, finally informing players what’s in store with the new console. The Switch 2 arrives 8 years after its predecessor and is jam-packed with new features players can try. Interestingly, some games leverage these features to release exclusive modes and ways to play for the upcoming console. Check out this guide to learn about all the games with Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features and modes. 

New Nintendo Switch 2 Features Explained (Mouse, Gyro & More!)

The Nintendo Switch 2 will bring a slew of new features to its platform, the most exciting of which is the mouse control functionality for Joy-Con 2. The mouse control feature is a new way to experience Switch Games and will also add a competitive touch to first-person shooters. 

On the other hand, some games have new Gyro modes that you can try out, which require motion controls to progress. Other titles were initially Switch games and have now received enhanced graphics and performance for the successor through upgrade packs

Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game That Uses New Features

Several Nintendo Switch 2 Games have received exclusive new features and modes on the upcoming console. The list includes first-party exclusives like Super Mario Party Jamboree, Pokemon Z-A, and more, along with new third-party additions like Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk 2077. The new features on third-party titles incentivize players to replay a game they might have already experienced on another platform. 

Street Fighter 6

Switch 2 players can try out 1v1 local battles with GameShare on Street Fighter 6. Players can also use a Joy-Con 2 controller each to fight it out on one screen. Two new Switch 2 exclusive modes take advantage of motion-controlled features. 

First is Gyro Battle, where players have to tilt, shake, twist, and press the Joy-Con 2 to fight in Street Fighter 6, adding a new layer of difficulty to fighters. There’s also a Calorie Contest, where players must use the controllers to burn as many calories as possible. Street Fighter 6 is also getting brand new amiibo and amiibo cards on the Switch 2.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition will be available on Switch 2 on launch day with a set of new features for players to try out. Firstly, the menus and inventories can be controlled through touchscreen functionality, which means players can tap, swipe, and pinch. Regarding gameplay, there’s a new Gyroscope mode that brings motion controls to combat, and there’s also the Joy-Con 2’s mouse control mode for precise aiming.

Hogwarts Legacy Switch 2 Edition

Hogwarts Legacy is another launch title for the Switch 2, featuring improved graphics and audio, seamless map load times, and other enhancements. Interestingly, it will also receive Joy-Con 2 mouse support; however, how it will be implemented wasn’t revealed. Players might also expect a gyro-based spell-casting mode; however, that wasn’t officially mentioned.

Drag x Drive

Drag X Drive is an upcoming online 3v3 game that will fully utilize Joy-Con 2 mouse support on the Switch 2. Players must use these controls to steer, speed up, perform tricks, and shoot baskets and dunks using gyro features.

The Legend of Zelda BOTW and TOTK Switch 2 Editions

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are receiving Switch 2 editions. These enhanced versions will introduce smoother frame rates, improved graphics, and faster load times. Moreover, a Zelda Notes app has been added to the Nintendo Switch app, bringing guides, achievements, and exclusive content for both titles.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Switch 2 Edition 

Pokemon Legends Z-A will be released on both the Switch and Switch 2, but the latter will be more visually appealing. Once released in 2025, the title will receive enhanced resolution and frame rates on the Switch 2.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Switch 2 Edition

Similarly, Metroid Prime 4 is releasing on both consoles, but Switch 2 is where all the fun is. The new Quality and Performance modes will allow players to experience the game at 4K 60 FPS or HD at 120 FPS, with both modes supporting HDR. On top of the enhanced frame rates and visuals, players can use the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for more precise aiming when using Samus’s arm cannon.

Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV

Super Mario Party Jamboree has a boatload of new features for the Switch 2. First, the Switch 2 camera accessory was added, which allows players to put their images in the game during mini-games. There are also full-body motion controls for some mini-games. 

The joy-con 2 mouse controls are also available for this title, allowing players to slide and click through the mini-games. Interestingly, sound is also part of gaming on the Switch 2, and players can clap their hands or use their voices to control specific actions in some modes.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World is another Switch 2 Edition game receiving improved graphics and frame rates. Players will also receive new story content: Star Crossed World, which can be accessed in single-player and local co-op.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Switch 2 Edition

Sid Meier’s Civilisation VII is another launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. It also introduces new mouse controls for a more intuitive experience when constructing cities and architectural wonders, shaping cultural lineage, and improving civilization. 

Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster

Last but not least is the HD remaster of the Nintendo 3DS RPG Bravely Default Flying Fairy. The title features some quality-of-life updates and two new mini-games that take advantage of the new Joy-Con 2 mouse support features on the Switch 2.
