Alan Wake II boasts one of the most refreshing and unique approaches to storytelling in recent years. It features two protagonists, with their stories running in parallel, and at any point, the player can switch between them, picking whether they want to experience Saga’s story, or the story of the titular character, Alan Wake.
During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live showcase, an all-new trailer was revealed, giving us a much deeper glimpse into Alan Wake’s story, which is set around 13 years after the events of the first game, which was released way back in 2010… So, 13 years ago.
Alan Wake II Looks Terrifying and Realistic
Alan Wake was always an eerie, spine-chilling kind of game, but Alan Wake II promises to be even more terrifying than the first title. It’s an atmospheric, gorgeous game on the surface, but lingering just beneath that finely-crafted crust is a world of horror.
In the trailer revealed at Gamescom’s ONL showcase, we got a look at the strange balance between live-action and computer-generated elements that help to bring the game alive and give the impression of a ‘dreamlike state’.
Alan Wake II will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 17th – are you investing in this thrilling, mysterious horrorfest?
