Sony Releasing 30th Anniversary Gray PS5

Sony is celebrating the 30th anniversary of PlayStation this year, and with it comes the launch of a new special edition PlayStation 5 (PS5) console. The new special edition consoles will be PlayStation gray, and will be available in the PS5 Digital and PS5 Pro.

In addition to the new consoles, Sony is also releasing a PlayStation gray DualSense controller, PlayStation Portal, and even a PlayStation-style cable connector that looks similar to the original controller connections.

If you get one of the special edition consoles, you will get the DualSense, cable connector, a vertical stand, a special edition poster, PlayStation shape cable ties, a console cover for the attachable disc drive, a paperclip, and a sticker. Should you get the PS5 Pro version, your controller will be a DualSense Edge instead of the traditional DualSense. You’ll also get a DualSense charging station.

Sony says it is making just 12,300 30th anniversary PS5 Pro consoles, and each will be specially numbered. The consoles and the controllers will also have a special 30th anniversary logo on them.

Should you not want the consoles, you can get the PlayStation Gray DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers separately. Pre-orders for the 30th Anniversary Edition consoles will begin on September 26. As of publishing, no pricing was announced. This story will be updated when that information becomes available.
