Can You Play Fortnite Save The World on Mobile?

A major change to Fortnite’s Save The World mode was made on April 16, 2026, moving to a free-to-play model, leaving questions to answer about the mobile availability of the mode.

Save The World’s free-to-play adjustment came on the same day as the removal of Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage from Fortnite, while Rocket Racing is being removed later this year, and more game modes are on the way, according to leaks.

If you’re keen to dive into Save The World in Fortnite and want to know if it’s available to play on mobile, Insider Gaming has all the details.

No, Fortnite’s Save The World mode is not available to play on mobile devices, and it doesn’t look likely to make a debut on the platform any time soon.

Fortnite’s status on mobile is due to the file size of the Save The World mode, which is required to be downloaded separately from the main client of the game.

While Save The World isn’t a large download for consoles, clocking in at around 9GB, it’s a different story for mobile devices, which have significantly less storage space.

As such, don’t expect Fortnite’s Save The World mode to come to mobile anytime soon, and it’s not the only platform the mode cannot be played on.

What Platforms is Save The World Available on?

Fortnite Save The World is available on most consoles, including last-gen platforms, but it cannot be played on Nintendo Switch.

While Save The World is available on Nintendo Switch 2, the previous generation of the console does not support the mode. Therefore, Switch players who haven’t upgraded to Switch 2 won’t be able to play, despite the fact that Save The World is now free-to-play.

There are plenty of other options, however, with PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One all supporting Save The World.

Additionally, Save The World is available on Nvidia GeForce Now and Amazon Luna.
