Nikita Explains What His New Game Means For Escape from Tarkov

Earlier this week, an all-new studio by the name of Rant Gaming unveiled Fragmentary Order, a sci-fi first-person shooter that many have dubbed ‘Starkov’, mostly because it looks like Escape from Tarkov, but in space. This is a product associated with Nikita Buyanov, but it wasn’t until recently that we understood how it all connects.

Nikita, alongside working at Battlestate Games, has created Rant Gaming to develop Fragmentary Order, an innovative shooter tied to a cryptic ARG that’s doing a good job of setting up an entirely fresh and hardcore universe.

Recently, Nikita explained what Fragmentary Order means for Escape from Tarkov…

‘Frago is the New Adventure’

Nikita Buyanov has always been the face of Escape from Tarkov. When we spoke to him as part of the Access Granted showcase last year, he quite simply said that Escape from Tarkov is his life, for many reasons. He’s the most prolific developer in the extraction space, love him or hate him.

Weeks ago, he started teasing a new project, which was revealed in February. Then, this week, the team at Rant Gaming, a new studio, unveiled Fragmentary Order, uncovering the full identity of this ambitious first-person shooter that seems like an extraction shooter.

But Nikita has suggested it’s not an extraction title, despite bearing the traits of one.

In a new post on social media, Buyanov outlined what ‘Frago’ means for Escape from Tarkov, as many have feared that the development icon is set to leave Battlestate behind and invest all his efforts in Fragmentary Order.

He wrote:

I always dreamed to make proper hard sci-fi. It been around my head for years – to bring life to new universe with predicting-the-future approach. And, of course, add something new to the genre as I did with Tarkov. Now my life has become twice as difficult. I decided to rush in with the thought: what if more time passes and I no longer can or want to do anything new?

Frago is being developed by separate company that I created, full of great ppl around the globe. Escape from Tarkov is my life and I’m continue working on it too with my BSG family no matter what. Tarkov for life. Frago is the new adventure that I want to share with you.

In the comments under his post, Nikita answered a couple of questions. First, he pondered why people think Frago is an extraction shooter, as mentioned. He also cleared up a key point: ‘It’s unrelated to Tarkov development.’

We’ve got an article talking about the full reveal of Fragmentary Order, which we now understand is a venture led by Nikita Buyanov, ten years after he started development on Escape from Tarkov.
