Fortnite continues to roll back the years with regular updates to Fortnite OG, and Season 8 of the popular game mode is right around the corner.
Fortnite OG began as a limited-time event celebrating the first-ever season of Fortnite, before returning as a separate game mode entirely, deploying flashback versions of popular seasons in the past.
Season 8 is next on the agenda for Fortnite OG, and Insider Gaming has all the important launch details you need.
When is Fortnite OG Season 8?

Fortnite Season 8 launches on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, following Epic Games’ deployment of version 40.10 of the game.
As usual for major updates like this, April 1 will begin with server downtime while the new version is deployed, followed by a return to service with a slew of new content across various modes.

While there will be plenty added to Fortnite across all modes, the standout additions will come in Fortnite OG, with a new Battle Pass, map overhauls, new weapons, and, of course, the return of the beloved Avengers LTM.
The launch of Fortnite OG Season 8 kicks off the next rewind season for the Epic Games title, and is expected to last for around two months.
What Time Does Fortnite OG Season 8 Release?
Fortnite downtime is on a fairly rigid structure, with servers set to go offline for the launch of OG Season 8 at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET on April 1.
Naturally, that means a later time for those elsewhere in the world, including in Europe and Australia, and the exact time that the game will be available again is not set in stone.

Due to the maintenance period, Epic Games doesn’t share specific times for the servers to return, and instead leaves it flexible in case of any delays. However, mid-season patches like this one usually result in downtime of around two to three hours.
As such, servers should be accessible for Fortnite OG Season 7 around 4 AM PT/7 AM ET, allowing for a three-hour window for the patch to be deployed, but the best bet is to keep an eye on social media for full details.
