Brie Larson Thinks Hollywood Can Learn From Gaming Community

Brie Larson believes it’s time for the film and TV universe to consider what they could learn from the world of video games.

Brie Larson is a proud gamer. The actress, known for her role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is voicing Rosalina in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. She’s often talked about her love for video games, and now she’s explaining what she’s gleaned from conversations with those who work in the gaming industry.

It’s Time for Cinema to See What It Can Take From Games, Says Brie Larson

Speaking on Fandango’s Seen on the Screen podcast, Larson explained that she believes the world of gaming is larger than the world of TV and film. She also says she’s been talking more with those who work in video game companies and believes that, just as people ask about the films, shows, and books their peers are interested in, video games should be included in that conversation too.

Furthermore, she believes that video games have taken a lot from Hollywood, and now it’s time for Hollywood to learn from the video game medium.

“The gaming community is much bigger than the film and television world… People say: ‘What movies did you see?’ or ‘What book are you reading?’, but not so much to ask, ‘What video game are you playing right now?’ I believe we’d be surprised to find that more people are actually playing games,” she says. “There’s so much that video games are taking from cinema, and I think it’s really time for us in cinema to recognize what we can take from video games.”

Also, it has been announced that Star Fox’s Fox McCloud will be in the film. However, his voice actor has not yet been revealed.

The movie will be released on April 1, 2026. Insider Gaming will continue to provide updates on the movie leading up to its release.

  • She’s 10 years late and just talking what she was told to say by agencies all PR. Super annoying. More reason not to watch that movie all these annoying woke losers.
