Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the start of Chapter 7, Season 2, though Epic Games has seemingly confirmed exactly when servers are expected to be back up.

Downtime for the launch of Chapter 7, Season 2 begins at 2 AM ET, and an in-game countdown indicates downtime is expected to last for around five hours.

The countdown is due to end at 7 AM ET, indicating that this is when players should expect the doors to open for the new season.

However, the times may still be subject to change, particularly if there any issues that arise while the patch is being deployed. The best place to keep an eye on the server status is social media.

What’s In The Fortnite March 19 Update?

The March 19 Fortnite update is the biggest in a long while, finally marking the start of Chapter 7, Season 2.

Initially due to release on March 5, Epic Games delayed the start of the new season by two weeks, making Chapter 7, Season 1, the third-longest on record.

The return of The Seven continues, with a head-to-head showdown against the Ice King, and artwork for the new season reveals Bugs Bunny is among those set to star. Other Looney Tunes characters are expected in the shop.

A teaser for the new season also showed several characters frozen by the Ice King, including Captain America, opening the door for another potential Marvel collab.

As usual, the new season will see a sweep of changes to the Battle Royale landscape with new POIs, weapons, bosses, and more.
