Resident Evil Requiem’s director has confirmed that a bunch of new content is planned for the game, along with a story expansion.
Capcom’s latest instalment in the iconic survival horror franchise has been faring quite well since launch, becoming the franchise’s fastest-selling game ever and one of the greatest games of all time, according to Metacritic user scores. To celebrate the game’s success, the developers have made a few announcements for players.
Resident Evil Requiem Sells Over 5 Million Copies in 2 Weeks; New Content and Expansion Announced
A new post on the official RE_Games account on X (formerly Twitter) confirms the new story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem. The game’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, revealed that they have already sold more than 5 million copies since launch on February 27, 2026. The director revealed that the development team will continue to address all bugs and performance issues the game faces, and also confirmed new content.
Nakanishi revealed that Resident Evil Requiem will receive a photo mode soon, the developers have a surprise planned for May 2026, and they also have a new mini-game on the way. The director then confirmed that extra story content is now in development for the title, and the expansion will “delve deeper into the world of Requiem”. No release date was revealed, but the developers have stated that “it will take some time”.
