Pearl Abyss has been working on Crimson Desert for years, and its launch day beckons. 2026 is positively stacked with game releases. If you ignore the obvious outlier of GTA 6—which is likely the one game to rule them all—developers and publishers seem to be saving all the good stuff for this year.

Can You Play Crimson Desert Through Early Access?
There is no early access being offered for Crimson Desert, which means the simultaneous release on all platforms is when you’ll get to play the Action-Adventure title.
Developer and publisher Pearl Abyss is clearly sticking to its guns where Crimson Desert is concerned.

There’s comfortably enough interest in Crimson Desert. The team could quite easily have offered early access as an incentive for one of the game’s several editions.
Instead, you can get exclusive in-game gear, a letter from the developer, and many more fun bonuses—but no early access, not even with the Collector’s Edition!
Does Crimson Desert Have A Demo?
Crimson Desert doesn’t have a playable demo to download from any storefront, and the only playable version of the game so far has been an exclusive demo at Gamescom 2025.
Attendees at Gamescom 2025 had to do a lot of queuing, but if you waited in line for Crimson Desert, you got to sample the only playable build of Crimson Desert release so far—until the review copies go out.

Pearly Abyss hasn’t said anything about a public demo arriving on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, but it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. All it means is that if you want to play Crimson Desert, you’ll likely have to be patient and wait for March 19.
