The main campaign for Resident Evil Requiem is chunky, like its enemies, and the focus has purely been on Leon and Grace’s respective adventures through Raccoon City and beyond. Eventually, the question of Resident Evil Requiem DLC needs to come up.
Whether you have or haven’t completed Resident Evil Requiem, there’s a lot to digest. While you chew on Resi 9’s content, you can’t help but wonder if Capcom is cooking up even more story content behind the scenes, as the studio has a reputation for doing so.
Does Resident Evil Requiem Have Post-Launch DLC Confirmed?
No post-launch DLC or story expansions have been confirmed by Capcom, but reliable insider Dusk Golem has heard that “Resident Evil Requiem has DLC that’s further along in dev (development.)”
Firstly, Capcom hasn’t said for certain that Requiem is getting DLC—not story DLC anyway. It could literally be a one-and-done deal. However, based on previous Resi entries, this seems unlikely.
Resident Evil Village has ‘The Shadows of Rose’ main story DLC, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard has the ‘Banned Footage’ and ‘Not a Hero’ expansions, and games before it also have paid story DLC. It would be remarkable if Capcom suddenly decided against this strategy for Requiem.

Outside of logical conjecture, renowned Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has previously commented on Requiem DLC. When talking about plans, here’s what they said:
“Not confirmed officially no, but I’ve heard pretty reliably Resident Evil Requiem has DLC that’s further along in dev. RE9 got delayed in dev a few times, Apocalypse was aiming for 2023, then Requiem was aiming for 2025, delayed to 2026.”
They’ve also repeated this sentiment in other social media messages that DLC is pretty much happening. You’ll be the first to know about official DLC plans right here at Insider Gaming.
When Could Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC Come Out?
Given the report that Resident Evil Requiem was originally supposed to come out in 2025 and the DLC in 2026, there’s every chance that any story DLC could release in 2027.

Again, we happily divert to Dusk Golem once more for clarity on the topic:
“In an alternate timeline, RE9 would’ve come out in 2025, & the DLC for it would’ve come out in 2026 to bridge the gap between RE9 & Code Veronica Remake/Zero Remake, similar to Shadows of Rose RE8 DLC for RE8. It’s just due to RE9 getting delayed they’ll be close together.”
Depending on how development has gone on the DLC—and rumored Code Veronica and Zero Remakes—Capcom could bump Requiem DLC up to 2026 after all. We’ll have to wait and see what the company does.
