Embark Removed PvP Feats in ARC Raiders, Pushing Closer to PvE Vibes

Embark Studios has released Shrouded Sky in ARC Raiders, the latest major update to the game’s ecosystem. As the biggest update of 2026 (so far), this introduces two new ARC enemies, the ‘Hurricane’ map condition, new quests, and even a fresh area on Dam Battlegrounds, one of the game’s most popular maps.

However, it’s not all about additions with Shrouded Sky. In the patch notes, Embark Studio revealed that PvP-focused Feats have been removed. These are the Feats that challenge you to do damage to other players with certain ammo types, for instance, but they’ve been stripped from the game, for some reason.

Another Push Towards PvE

In the full patch notes for ARC Raiders’ Shrouded Sky update, we can see a glaring change in the PvP stakes. Embark Studios wrote:

Removed PvP Feats, updated a few existing Feats and added a few new ones.

For the uninitiated, Feats are micro-challenges that players complete to earn credits that they can spend on the in-game ‘Raider Deck’. Think ‘battle pass’, but it’s entirely free to progress through.

Previously, players could accomplish certain feats as ‘Damage Raiders with Light Ammo’ or ‘Search Knocked Out Raiders’, which promoted a PvP-focused vibe. However, the removal of such Feats means that there’s one less reason to chase after other players in ARC Raiders, one of the most electrifying extraction adventure titles we’ve ever seen.

Additionally, Embark made it so that you can re-roll Feats for free, up to three times per day. If you don’t like the Feats you’ve been given, you’re free to switch them and see what else you get.

The PvP change is a pretty big one, as it was one of the boldest arguments in the ‘ARC Raiders is a PvP game’ debate. Many argued that, if ARC Raiders isn’t built for PvP, why are there challenges to damage and take down other players? With the PvP-focused Feats being removed, that’s one less argument for that angle.

Maybe it’s a temporary change, or a test, or some kind of anti-bug effort by Embark Studios. All we know is that they’ve been removed for now.

  • I don’t miss them, and I have over 140 hours topside (That is hours actually playing in raids. In game well over 200 but that is time working on loadouts/gettting stuff recycled etc.)
Sometimes I didnt want to be in a “PvP” or “Aggressive lobby” because I wanted to get the 10 points towards my decks money. So more so I am just curious what they have added honestly

  • Removing PvP feats won’t make much difference, they are quickly refreshed so it’s easy to skip the PvP ones. However the requirement for rocketeer drivers to craft wolfpacks now will push PvP more than feats ever did.
Players are going to be less forgiving with the scroungers who swarm out the woodwork after you’ve just downed one on your own like in my match yesterday. I was tempted to finish him after he hadn’t shot a single bullet but let him carry on, not in future when I need the driver.

  • Thank you Embark!
    Smart move.

I really hope that this means a PvE mode is in the works and hopefully will be available soon.

Myself and my gamer group of 34 all got refunds for the game because we hate the PvP, which is hilarious because we’re all back to playing CoD, R6S, and FN but that’s what those games are all about.

We all bought Arc Raiders for the PvE and were all super dissatisfied with the lobbies turning into just another PvP shooter – same gunfights with different visuals.

I know they’ll all come back and buy it again if there’s a PvE mode.
    It’ll be awesome!!!

    • The pvp and pve kept the game alive. If stripped the pvp aspect. The game will die quickly because after you finished the quest you had nothing to do.

    • Yeah. PvE mode would be amazing. Really hope Embark listens to the huge number of fans who want the choice to enjoy the cool narrative and world they’ve created instead of being PvPed.

  • We are simply only asking to add a PVE mode as well as a PVP lobby. Not take away the PVP lobby. We want both. We deal with enough life crap and work that sometimes we dont feel like PVP’ing and wanna just stroll through topside and build our character. Me and a large group of COD members left COD for the PVE here but now it seems to be only PVP. I have over 300 hrs in the game, I am a friendly, but every other match I’m getting gunned down. We cant group up with o u r buddies because it becomes instant PVP. I hope they consider adding a PVP mode as well because we are all fixing to revert back to COD.

  • Changes nothing. I detest PvPers in Arc because they are lazy thieves stealing what I worked to gather, buy, and build. Embark are absolutely responsible for not providing a PvE instance, and very capable of doing so but refuse to do it. Over 130 hours play I have downed 3 Raiders, in self-defence, but now refuse to even defend myself as well as not even take a gun on some runs, because once you defend yourself, you’ll spend the next 10 matches guaranteed to meet an increased number of PvPers. I refuse to pull the trigger on other players now.

  • It definitely bugged me when they said they didn’t do anything to encourage players to shoot other players whilst these challenges existed. The way I got around it was by waiting until the exfil was locked in. Then I’d put a couple rounds into the random person exfil -ing with me and apologize profusely over the mic 😂
