Slay The Spire 2 is sticking with the trend of entering Early Access before officially releasing, but that spells a lot of confusion for console fans.
The original Slay The Spire was incredibly popular across multiple platforms, with its release spanning PlayStation, Xbox, and even Nintendo devices—it even made its way onto mobile devices! However, thanks to its Early Access status, the future of Slay The Spire 2 isn’t so obvious, so Insider Gaming is here to clear the air regarding its console releases.
Can You Play Slay The Spire 2 Early Access On PlayStation 5?
Despite the original being available on the PlayStation 4 and 5, Slay The Spire 2 will not be released on Sony’s latest console so long as it’s in Early Access.
Whilst it might be disappointing to hear, the original Slay The Spire took the same development path. It was tested and updated regularly whilst in Early Access on Steam, and when it was ready for a full release, it was eventually ported to PlayStation 4.

As things stand, Mega Crit hasn’t clarified whether the sequel will follow suit, but when the original was released to consoles, it came to PlayStation first—could the same happen again with Slay The Spire 2?
Can You Play Slay The Spire 2 Early Access On Xbox Series X|S?
Unfortunately for Xbox fans, it’s equally bad news, as Slay The Spire 2 Early Access will not be playable on either of the consoles.
Usually, the Xbox player base gets the short end of the stick when it comes to console releases, but thankfully for them, this time around, it has nothing to do with Xbox in particular.
It’s likely the same case as it was with PlayStation: so long as the game remains in Early Access, Slay The Spire 2 will not be coming to Xbox. As for when the game is officially released, there’s a strong likelihood that it’ll be released on Xbox platforms, though confirmation remains to be seen.
Can You Play Slay The Spire 2 Early Access On Nintendo Switch 2?
As is to be expected, Nintendo fans don’t fare any better, as Slay The Spire 2 Early Access won’t be available on the Nintendo Switch 2.

It’s the exact same deal as it was with the previous consoles, but it doesn’t have to be all bad news. By the time the game is out of Early Access, it should be a truly balanced, complete experience; so if you think about it, whilst you might have to wait longer, you should be getting the best that Slay The Spire 2 will have to offer.
