Fortnite’s regular drop of new weapons has continued with the arrival of the new Lock On Assault Rifle into the game, which is required to complete a Weekly Quest.
The iconic Battle Royale title has plenty lying ahead this month, as revealed by Epic Games’ February Roadmap for Fortnite. Among the smaller updates is the addition of the new weapon.
If you’re on a hunt for the Lock On Assault Rifle to tick off the Weekly Quest, or want to try out the new weapon, Insider Gaming has all the details.
Where to Find a Lock On Assault Rifle in Fortnite

Lock On Assault Rifles are a random loot item in Fortnite, with no guaranteed way to obtain it. However, it should be easily accessible with looting.
To increase the chances of finding a Lock On Assault Rifle, search as many Chests as possible. The more chests you open, the better the chances of getting your hands on the new weapon. However, it is down to luck, mostly.
Eliminating enemy players can also provide access to the Lock On Assault Rifle, if they had it in their inventory. Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for rare blue chests around the map, as these have a higher chance of spawning high-tier items and weapons.
Can You Buy a Lock On Assault Rifle in Fortnite?
Yes, Lock On Assault Rifles can appear in AR Vending Machines across the map.
Initially, the new weapon was not included in the loot pool for the Vending Machines in Fortnite. However, Epic Games later posted to social media confirming their addition.
To purchase the weapon from a Vending Machine, you need the required amount of Gold. The exact price fluctuates based on the weapon’s rarity.
Fortunately, it’s easy to farm Gold in Fortnite. It regularly drops from Chests, Cash Registers, and when enemy players are eliminated.
Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for the Gold Rush rift event, which provides Gold for destroying structures. This is an easy way to boost your tally to afford any item you need, including the newest weapon in the loot pool.
