Far Cry 3: Classic Edition Receives 60FPS Update

A classic Ubisoft game, Far Cry 3, is receiving a massive quality-of-life update across all current-gen consoles.

It has been officially announced that Far Cry 3: Classic Edition is getting a 60FPS update. Sony released a trailer on January 18, showcasing gameplay and letting fans know they can return to the Far Cry 3 island with all-new visuals. It’s also noted that the title is available in the Ubisoft+ Classics subscription catalog and included with PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra. The patch will be available on January 21.

Other Renditions of Far Cry 3 May Be Getting Updates As Well

In a social media post released before the trailer, the Far Cry team not only suggested a 60 FPS update for the classic version of Far Cry 3, but also for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic and Far Cry Primal.

The Classic Edition was released in 2018, and the original version in 2012.

Does this update make you want to go back and experience the world of Far Cry 3 again? Sound off in our official Discord server. If not, and you’re looking for a newer Far Cry experience, fear not. There’s currently a Far Cry TV series in development at FX.
