After a long wait, Hytale’s early access launch is on the horizon, but the Hytale Launcher must be downloaded before you can dive into the fun.
Hytale launches into early access on January 13 as a PC exclusive, with a million players expected on the first day, which is why Hypixel Studios has encouraged players to download the launcher ahead of time.

How to Download Hytale Launcher
Hytale has an independent launcher and must be downloaded from the game’s official website, as it’s not available on platforms like Steam.
While Hytale could be available on other launchers like Steam and Epic Games Store in the future, the only way to download the game currently is from the official website. Here are the steps to follow.
- Head to the Hytale website using this link.
- Click the ‘Download’ option in the navigation tab at the top of the page.
- Select the ‘Download for Windows’ option that shows.
- The installer for the launcher will now be available in your PC downloads folder.
If you try to download the Hytale Launcher immediately after the release of the game, you may encounter issues due to server overload. Therefore, it’s worth being ahead of the curve and downloading the launcher as soon as possible.
How to Install Hytale Launcher
Downloading the game is only the first step, as, unlike platforms like Steam, you need to install the launcher fully before the game can be accessed.
Here are the steps on how to do that.
- Follow the steps outlined above to download the Hytale launcher.
- From your PC’s downloads folder, open the downloaded file.
- Hit ‘Next >’ on the first pop-up of Hytale Launcher installation.
- Choose the install location for the Hytale Launcher and click ‘Next >’
- Choose the install location for Hytale’s game files and select ‘Install’.
- Wait for the process to complete, then select ‘Next >’.
- Select the ‘Finish’ button on the final page.
If you download the launcher before Hytale’s official release, you won’t be able to download the full game yet, or access it. Instead, it will tell you to return on January 13 when the download becomes available.
