Fallout fans can rejoice, as another tidbit claim has surfaced related to a Fallout: New Vegas remake. While most fans of the post-apocalyptic series are focused on the (assumedly) imminent announcement of the Fallout 3 remake, a fair portion of that community is eagerly awaiting Fallout: New Vegas news.
As the Fallout TV show is currently unravelling and exploring the post-game events of the 2010 open-world RPG, it makes great sense for a Fallout: New Vegas remake to be unveiled. That concept might not be too far from what’s planned.
Will We Get Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas First?
In a recent deep-dive into the future of Xbox, Windows Central revealed that both the Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remakes are coming. It’s widely assumed that Fallout 3 will surface first, given that documents referencing the project were dug up as far back as 2023.
Talk around a Fallout: New Vegas remaster or even a ‘New Vegas 2’ has been circulating for a while, but never to the same concrete standard.
If you ask the average Fallout fan which title is their favorite, they’ll almost always have a split between 2008’s Fallout 3 and 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas, so it makes great fiscal sense for Bethesda Game Studios to remake both of them. As Fallout 5 is likely several years away, they’ll fill the void quite nicely.
The recent Windows Central feature stated:
We are eventually getting a Fallout 3 remake in the vein of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, as well as Fallout: New Vegas on top.
It’s now a waiting game for Bethesda Game Studios’ announcement, whenever that might come.

As they’re the same engine, they could do the remake as a “Tale of Two Wastelands” style remake of both at once.
