Starfield 2026 Update Reportedly Showcased Behind Closed Doors
A new report by WindowsCentral discusses rumours that Starfield’s 2026 update was recently showcased behind closed doors. These rumours state that Bethesda has been working to improve Starfield’s spaceflight mechanics and to step away from loading screens for “more free-form and continuous” traversal. The game’s Creation Engine has received significant technical improvements to enhance the spaceflight system, and the improvements will be used in future games as well.
Additionally, the Starfield 2026 update is also rumoured to bring the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 ports next year. The developers have been working on optimising the title for “low power” devices like handhelds. However, sources are unable to agree on the scale of the update.
