A wealth of new content is on the horizon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A with the release of the Mega Dimension DLC, but we don’t have to wait long for new additions as Mega Diancie and Diancite are now available in-game.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A received an update on December 5, which seemed innocuous initially, though it was later revealed that the patch included a special new side quest in the post-game that provided Diancie and the brand-new Mega Diancie.

How to Get Diancite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Diancite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is available as a Mystery Gift, distributed to all players from November 6, 2025.
Unlike the majority of other Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Diancite is not available through direct gameplay as it cannot be purchased at the Stone Emporium, unlocked at Quasartico Inc with Mega Shards, or earned from defeating Rogue Mega Evolution Pokémon.
Instead, the distribution process is similar to the Ralts and Gardevoirite distributed to players as a pre-order bonus. Here’s a quick breakdown of the steps.
- Load Pokémon Legends: Z-A
- Open the main menu
- Select ‘Link Play’
- Choose the ‘Mystery Gift’ option
- Select ‘Get via Internet’
- Wait while your console connects to the internet
- Select the reward from the list that appears
How to Get Diancie in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Diancie is only available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A through a specific side mission that only unlocks when you claim the Mystery Gift with Diancite.
To initiate the mission, head to the Looker Bureau in Rouge Sector 3 in the northeast of the map, near Wild Zone 3. Head inside and interact with Emma’s Espurr, Mimi, who detects strong psychic energy and leaves the building for you and Emma to follow—triggering the Shine Bright Like a Gemstone mission.
Track the mission with the + button and follow the guidance to the designated locations. The third location is a holovator, head up it and follow the buildings around to the right—you’ll need to use Roto Glide to make the jump. Once you reach the location where Emma and Espurr are waiting, Diancie appears alongside two Carbink.
Defeat the three Pokémon in battle and catch Diancie. If you want, you can use the Masterball on Diancie for an easier capture, but it’s not required. The game automatically saves before the battle, so if Diancie breaks free, you can try again.
