Escape from Tarkov has gone gold after almost a decade on the market. The game began as an alpha product in 2016 before pivoting to a beta in 2017. It has forever remained in that state – until now. On November 15, Escape from Tarkov launches as a 1.0 product, with Battlestate Games shipping a new version and listing the game on Steam for the first time.
Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games, recently revealed that Escape from Tarkov has finally gone gold, meaning it’s officially ready to launch.
Escape from Tarkov is Finally Ready to Go
In a post on social media, the ever-prolific mind behind Escape from Tarkov, Nikita, said:
Escape from Tarkov has gone gold! The final version is complete — production is finished, and the final countdown to release has begun. Years of hard work, testing, and refinement have peaked in the result we’ve all been waiting for.
For us, this is more than just a date on the calendar — it is a symbol of the journey we’ve traveled together with the community. Thank you for your unwavering support and feedback over these 10 years. Your ideas have helped breathe life and depth into the game.
For me personally, this is the most important and significant moment in my life.
Battlestate Games has been dedicated to the evolution and expansion of Escape from Tarkov for almost a decade, pouring time, effort, and resources into the spearhead extraction shooter to allow it to sit at the top of the table. It’s a household name in the extraction space, and it’s where every title that enters the genre aspires to be.
This milestone represents a huge leap forward for Escape from Tarkov, which many believed would never be released as a 1.0 title.
In a recent video, Nikita Buyanov addressed the future of Escape from Tarkov, stressing that the first DLC is being worked on and that other elements, like a console version of the game, are in the works.
