Stardew Valley 1.7 Update is Coming, ConcernedApe Confirms

Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has confirmed that Stardew Valley will get a 1.7 update, even as he works tirelessly to bring Haunted Chocolatier to life. This announcement came on social media with a charming graphic, and while it was revealed, Barone stressed that there’s ‘no release date, no estimate’ for the 1.7 Stardew Valley update.

It has been more than a year since the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley, which introduced new items, festivals, and various graphical improvements, was released on all platforms.

Is Stardew Valley Getting Any More Updates?

The running belief was that Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone was finished with Stardew Valley updates as he started work on Haunted Chocolatier, his first new game in years. Following the rampant and wildfire success of Stardew Valley, one of the highest-rated and best-selling indie games of all time, Barone is looking to move to pastures new.

In a recent post on social media, Barone confirmed:

Okay, I revealed this at the concert last night and now the cat’s out of the bag, so I will confirm for everyone: There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update. No release date, no estimate. But it’s happening.

The image he used for the announcement was fantastic:

Stardew Valley has been around since 2016, and in July, it shattered a Steam record held by Portal 2 for 14 years by becoming the platform’s top-rated game. As I write this, 98% of the nearly half a million reviews of Stardew Valley are positive, which effortlessly dominates every other game on the Steam platform.

To put that into perspective, Steam hosts more than 130,000 games.

Currently, we have no information on what the Stardew Valley 1.7 update will entail. Given the track record for ConcernedApe, it’s safe to assume it’ll be sizable, but the solo developer is tied up with Haunted Chocolatier, so who knows?
