Ghost of Yotei Goes Gold A Month Before Release

Ghost of Yotei is officially ready to launch. Developer Sucker Punch Productions has announced that the game has gone gold ahead of it’s October 2 release on PlayStation 5 (PS5).

The announcement came Thursday via a post on social media.

“We’re so excited to finally have reached this milestone and can’t wait for everyone to experience the beauty of Ezo on October 2nd,” the studio said.

The game going gold means that there’s likely no chance of a delay from Ghost of Yotei’s planned launch date. Of course, you can’t put it at a zero percent chance because anything can happen, but it’s highly unlikely at this point.

Ghost of Yotei will be available exclusively on PS5. The game comes in a standard edition for $69.99 as well as a more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition for $79.99.

Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game will receive the Snake Armor, a Sword Kit, early unlocked Traveler’s Maps, a Charm, the Digital Deluxe Armor Dye, and Digital Deluxe Horse and Saddle.

As far as other platforms go, there has been no confirmation of the game coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, or elsewhere. Looking at Ghost of Tsushima, it was released on PlayStation 4 in July 2020 before launching on PS5 in August 2021. A PC release didn’t happen until May 2024, and it’s still not available on Xbox.

With PlayStation being more likely to port its games over to other systems now than it was in the past, it could be assumed that it’s only a matter of time before it happens. When it happens, though, is anyone’s guess.
