Most sports games nowadays feature early access as a pre-order incentive. If you have some extra cash to spare, you might want to upgrade to one of NBA 2K26’s superior editions to grab early access. We have info on which editions you need to consider, as well as the early access start dates and times.
I used to be one of the people who bought my favourite sports games every year. There was no debate, and it was a foregone conclusion. It’s not the case anymore, as I feel sports games aren’t evolving much. It makes no difference, as the biggest sports title sells millions of copies yearly. NBA 2K26 is going to do the same, and at least it’s got a banging soundtrack.
If you want to play NBA 2K26 as fast as possible, you need early access.
How to Get NBA 2K26 7-Day Early Access

You can get NBA 2K26 early access by pre-ordering either the Superstar Edition or Leave No Doubt Edition of the game.
No joke, there are four editions to consider—with a handy pre-order bonus thrown in for good measure. With the industry trying its best to move to digital over physical, you’re encouraged to secure yourself a digital edition for early access bonuses.
Of the four, only the Superstar and Leave No Doubt editions come with seven days of early access. This means you can start playing much earlier than the game’s scheduled September 5 release date.
NBA 2K26 Early Access Start Date
The established start date for NBA 2K26 early access is August 29 at 9 AM PDT.
NBA 2K26’s official FAQ answers this question perfectly: “Up to 7-day Early Access will be offered to players who pre-order NBA 2K26 Superstar Edition or NBA 2K26 Leave No Doubt Edition. Early Access begins August 29, 2025.”
However, we’ve gone one better and worked out the early access start times for key regions. It would be much easier if we all got early access at the same time—making it easier to track. It’s not the case.
