Moonshot Games is loading up the ship, stocking up the supplies, and getting ready to jettison any doubts with Wildgate. Helmed by former Blizzard members, you’re all eager to see what Wildgate has up its wing-shaped sleeves, and we’ve got release date and times info.
Wildgate is anticipated, and the game is motivated, why? Because developer Moonshot Games is part of Dreamhaven—founded in 2020 by Blizzard co-founder Michael Morhaime and other Blizzard employees. There’s a ton of pedigree and potential in the company, and Wildgate is Moonshot’s first game.
I don’t think you should space out on this one. If you’ve already seen a trailer, dabbled in gameplay footage, and you want to know when it’s coming out, let’s go through this.
Wildgate Release Date

Wildgate is penciled in for a July 22 release date, launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Talk about throwing all your space eggs into one basket. Wildgate is coming hot out of the gate on the major platforms. First announced in March 2025, it features PvP, all-in-one space battles, and its gameplay is quite unique—giving it a great chance to succeed.
Did I also mention it’s one of the most wishlisted games on Steam? We’ve already suggested Wildgate could be the innovative, multiplayer game of the year the scene is crying out for.
Wildgate Start Times
We still aren’t sure of the official Wildcard start times, despite information already being out there.
Let me explain: The Wildgate listing on the PlayStation Store indicates the game is available from 10 AM PT on July 22—with other time zones adjusted accordingly.
However, Insider Gaming has learned that the advertised time is “not accurate,” and the official start time is still to be decided.
We’ll update this article once the information comes our way.
It’s always risky throwing a new online shooter into the space (no pun intended) with so many available. But, considering the studio’s history, it could crack the code. Do you agree? Or will Wildgate stumble into a big blackhole? Share your honest feedback with us through the Insider Gaming forum.
Even though it’s long since expired, check out what happened with the Wildgate open beta and more details.
