Grow A Garden has a wide array of events and mutations to secure on your valuable crops, and one of the most mysterious is the Sun God event.
Weather events in Grow A Garden are random and have several rarities, with standard rain being the most common, ranging to the rare Bloodmon night event. Even they pale in comparison to the Sun God event, however.
We’ve got all the details on the Sun God event in Grow A Garden and how you can utilize it in this guide.
What Does the Sun God do in Grow A Garden?

The Sun God is a rare weather event in Grow A Garden that first appeared ahead of the Friendship update in June and was initially triggered by admins.
Since it first appeared, however, there have been claims that the Sun God weather event has appeared randomly as part of the weather rotation, though, unfortunately, I’ve not been lucky enough to experience this.
When the Sun God weather event triggers, the game’s creator, Jandel, appears in a giant form behind the Cosmetic Shop. Unlike other weather events that randomly apply mutations, the Sun God event is specific to a single type of produce and is manually triggered.
How to Get the Dawnbound Mutation in Grow A Garden
The Dawnbound Mutation in Grow A Garden can only be applied to Sunflowers and has to be manually triggered by players. Unlike most of the other mutations, Dawnbound is applied after being harvested.
Additionally, the Dawnbound Mutation is only available during the rare Sun God weather event, making it one of the most valuable mutations in the game. The Dawnbound Mutation applies a whopping 56,300x bonus to Sunflowers.
If you’re lucky enough to experience the Sun God weather event and have Sunflowers growing in your garden, follow these steps to get the Dawnbound Mutation.
- Harvest a Sunflower from your garden.
- Gather with three other players who have also harvested a Sunflower.
- At the same time, equip the Sunflower from your hot bar and show it to the giant Jandel behind the Cosmetics Shop.
- When done correctly, the Dawnbound Mutation will be applied.
Unfortunately, if you don’t have Sunflowers ready to harvest for the Sun God event, you won’t be able to take advantage of the opportunity to gain the Dawnbound Mutation. Sunflowers are one of the rarest seeds in the game, with just a 0.5% chance of being earned from opening a Flower Seed Pack.
