The Nintendo Switch 2 is out and in full effect, with many AAA and third-party games released for it. Many are wondering where a Marvel Rivals Switch 2 port is for more super-duper options, and game director Guangyun Chen has given a big update on its status.
The original Switch was limited by its hardware capabilities. However, the Switch 2 is a beast and can stand toe-to-toe with many of its competitors. With Marvel Rivals proving to be an unstoppable Juggernaut—a lesser-known character we could see—it makes sense to talk about a Switch 2 port.
NetEase Hasn’t Been Given Switch 2 Dev Kit For Marvel Rivals

Guangyun Chen has spoken openly about Marvel Rivals’ development and continued support since day one. One of his most recent interviews (with Video Gamer) pulled back the curtain on why there isn’t a Switch 2 version yet.
“We are in the process of obtaining the development machine for NS2,” explained Chen. NetEase hasn’t been given a Switch 2 Dev Kit, quite simply. Without this, it’s impossible to develop a Marvel Rivals Switch 2 port.
He added: “Once we have it, we will conduct a thorough evaluation and provide a response.” Marvel Rivals was allegedly tested for the Switch 1, but again, technological limitations mean that its performance wouldn’t have sufficed.
It seems that as soon as NetEase gets a Dev Kit, they can start testing Marvel Rivals and see if a Rivals port is practical, and if it is, the company can like prove an update in the future.
Are you surprised by how careful Nintendo has been with the Switch 2? With outlets not getting review copies and companies being restricted in who gets a Dev Kit, are they being too cautious? Let us know through the Insider Gaming forum.
