All Team-Up Ability Changes in Marvel Rivals Season 3

Marvel Rivals Season 3 introduces two new Team-Up abilities, while removing two others.

In Marvel Rivals, Team-Up abilities incentivize players to choose specific characters because they allow two or more heroes to combine their powers to receive buffs or extra skills. Throughout the seasons, NetEase has introduced new abilities and removed others. For example, Jeff Nado was a new Team-Up between Storm and Jeff the Shark in Season 2.5 that instantly became a favorite.

As of Season 2.5, over 50% of Team-Up Abilities have been changed. NetEase takes it one step further in Season 3, bringing the total up to 70%.

Every Team-Up Change in Marvel Rivals Season 3

Here is a look at every Team-Up change in Season 3.

New Team-Up Abilities

Team-Up AbilityHeroesEffect
Primal FlamePhoenix and WolverinePhoenix is the anchor. When Wolverine unleashes his Feral Leap, the Phoenix Force activates, burning nearby enemies over time and adding Lifesteal to all of Wolverine’s attacks.
Ever-Burning BondHuman Torch Human Torch is the anchor, channeling his flames into a special gadget for Spider-Man, allowing him to shoot a flaming web, dealing area damage, and applying a Burn-Tracer. Just like his classic Spider-Tracer, Spidey can use Get Over Here to zip to any enemy with a Burn-Tracer, triggering an explosion for extra burn damage. Burn-Tracers and Spider-Tracers can both be attached, opening up combo possibilities.

Removed Team-Up Abilities

Storming IgnitionHuman Torch and Storm When the Human Torch activates Supernova, Storm can summon an Omega Fire by selecting a Flame Tornado with Omega Hurricane. Likewise, when Storm unleashes Omega Hurricane, the Human Torch can transform it into a Burning Hurricane with Supernova. Any Flame Tornado caught in a Burning Hurricane will grow in size and damage.
ESU AlumnusSpider-Man and Squirrel Girl Spider-Man gives Squirrel Girl a web bomb. She can slingshot it to unleash an explosion upon contact with the environment or an enemy, briefly ensnaring and damaging enemies caught in the blast.

Changed Team-Up Abilities

Team-Up AbilityHeroesEffect
Symbiote Shenanigans Venon, Jeff the Land Shark, and Hela Hela is being added to the Symbiote Shenanigans Team-Up. Now, Symbiotes have fused into Hela’s Soul Drainer Hel Sphere. When it triggers, in addition to the original effect, Symbiote Tendrils lash out at enemies, linking them together and slowing their movement as they’re dragged toward the impact point.
Stark Protocol Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, and UltronSquirrel Girl is being added to Stark Protocol. Iron Man gifts her a Nano-Tech gauntlet, letting her command one of her squirrels to ride the glove. Thanks to its boosters, the squirrel homes in on an enemy and explodes on impact, dealing damage. No squirrels are harmed in the process, as it jumps off right before the glove explodes.

In addition to those changes, the Guardian Revival Team-Up Ability is getting nerfed. All of these balancing updates go into effect when Season 3 starts on July 11.
