What’s New in Grounded 2?
The first thing to note for Grounded 2 compared to the first game in the series is the size, as the developer states, “the starting zone alone is nearly as big as the entire backyard from the first game.”
Bugs have been overhauled from the first game and are no longer just mounts, now providing benefits as building partners, allies in battle, and emergency getaway rides.
Each bug has “its own unique perks and playstyle,” with “Buggys” being an essential part of survival. For example, red ants can be used to haul resources, while Orb Weaver’s stun enemies mid-fight.
Changes have also come to tools, especially with the Oni-Tool; which works as an Axe, Hammer, Shovel, and Wrench all in one, freeing up backpack space. New bugs are also added, including cockroaches, alongside new biomes, including ice cream carts and snack shacks.
As an early access title, player feedback will play a direct role in the development of the game, and players are encouraged to share what they like and don’t like as they explore.
