Capcom’s long-running Resident Evil Re:Verse can no longer be purchased or played. The servers are officially offline, and the game’s final-day peak numbers are a big indicator as to why.
Resident Evil Re:Verse launched in 2022. It was a fully multiplayer-focused game centering on popular characters and enemies from the franchise. From traditional Team Deathmatch to innovative modes, Capcom wanted a unique online title.
However, it never really took off, and the servers were turned off on June 29 as the company looks toward Resident Evil Requiem.
Resident Evil Re:Verse is No Longer Available

It was in February that Capcom announced Resident Evil Re: ReVerse was ending its service: “Thank you for playing Resident Evil: ReVerse. This is to inform you that service will be ending for Resident Evil: ReVerse…The application and all of its DLC will no longer be available for download or purchase.”
On June 29, true to its word, Capcom shut down Resident Evil Re:Verse. The game hit an opening month peak of 2,080 players (according to Steam Charts), then went down to 329 the following month, and it never went past 100 again.
Its final 24-hour peak rose to 86 (from 19 and 17 in recent months), but it sums up the game’s torrid time since launch. A lack of content and a push toward monetization immediately drew potential players away. Resident Evil Re:Verse never recovered, and the title is no longer available to buy on Steam.
Did you play Resident Evil Re:Verse? Did Capcom squander its potential? Or is this a case of a failed experiment that Capcom needs to learn from before Resident Evil 9? We want to hear your thoughts via the Insider Gaming forum.
