Rematch players on PC have the option to use a controller or keyboard, but there is one clear winner, and the devs agree.
Sloclap took the innovative third-person physics introduced in the Kung Fu Brawler, Sifu, and applied it to Rematch, an online soccer game. In Rematch, you control a single player on the team in either 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 matches.
However, this isn’t your typical soccer match. There are no offside calls or penalties, and the ball never goes out of bounds because matches are all played inside an enclosed dome. Since there are no stoppages, you are constantly forced to make quick decisions. To achieve the best results, it’s essential to have an optimal setup.
Should You Use a Controller or Keyboard on Rematch?

On the Steam store listing, Sloclap recommends playing Rematch with a controller. The PC version of the game supports Xbox and PlayStation controllers, giving you plenty of options.
It also doesn’t help that players reported issues while using a keyboard and mouse during the beta. On June 16, the devs released an update to address the problem.
“We corrected a lot of bugs and improved the overall feeling of the new tap aiming system on mouse and keyboard. Now it should be easier to aim 360 degrees around the character, without the aiming being “sticky” in some directions or going in the opposite direction from where you wanted to aim.”
Yet, even with this update, aiming where to pass with keyboard and mouse is much more challenging than with a controller.
Passing and shooting in Rematch are primarily based on manual input. This means the ball goes where you aim it. You have more control over a ball’s trajectory when aiming with the left and right sticks of a controller, compared to a mouse and keyboard.
Especially when you have to react quickly, it’s smoother to make minor adjustments on a controller.
What is The Best Controller to Use For Rematch?
Choosing the best controller to use for Rematch depends on your personal preference.
Xbox and PlayStation controllers have different designs and feels. It all boils down to which option is more comfortable in your hands. The price is also similar, as both controllers go for around $70.
