Battlefield 6 Leaks Have ‘Bad Company 2 Vibes’, Former Producer Says

Recently, more than an hour of Battlefield 6 gameplay surfaced online, prompting fans worldwide to go wild at what’s evolving in the developing title. As the playtests persist, we’re seeing more gameplay emerge, and the impressions we’re getting are that Battlefield 6 will be one heck of a turning point for the series.

In response to the latest Battlefield 6 leaks, former Battlefield developer David Goldfarb took to social media to express his joy at the ‘Bad Company 2 vibes’ that Battlefield 6 has.

‘Having Flashbacks’

In a one-minute post on social media, users marvelled at the destructive, modern gameplay elements of Battlefield 6, which continues to suffer from constant leaks. One user to praise the game was David Goldfarb, a former producer who worked on Battlefield: Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.

In case you need some context, that streak is widely considered the peak of the Battlefield series.

Goldfarb wrote that the one-minute Battlefield 6 gameplay snippet had ‘BC2’ vibes. He mentioned it was giving him flashbacks to when the team was testing Arica Harbor, one of the most popular maps in 2010’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

(Thanks to GameSpot for the spot)

It wasn’t all good news, though. Goldfarb also pointed out that the movement mechanics looked ‘a little weird’ and that the character designs seemed ‘very generic’.

We were discussing some of the strange movement mechanics in recent days, with the news surfacing that combat rolling seems to be making a comeback, but it looks awful.

The character designs are more aligned with traditional boots-on-the-ground, present-day combatants, which explains why they’re more ‘generic’. It’s widely known that this is a much more grounded experience, and you won’t see gaudy, multicoloured costumes in Battlefield 6 (I hope).

Do you see the Bad Company 2 vibes in the Battlefield 6 leaks? Let me know on the Insider Gaming forum.
