Everything Revealed in Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 2

The long-awaited second trailer for GTA 6 was released by Rockstar Games on May 6, 18 months after the first trailer dropped in December 2023. It was one hell of a long wait, but fans rejoiced as soon as the video was shadowdropped by Rockstar on social media and YouTube.

At almost three minutes, GTA 6 Trailer 2 features much more meat on the bones than the first trailer, which was little more than an introduction to the world of GTA 6. In Trailer 2, we get a deeper insight into both Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, the main characters from the game.

Read on to check out everything revealed in GTA 6 Trailer 2.

Long Time Coming

GTA 6’s second trailer broke the internet when it was released on May 6. It caused the Rockstar Games website to crash for an extended time, and it locked YouTube up, with the view counter getting stuck at around 23,000 views (which isn’t an uncommon thing for YouTube).

It’s finally here after all these months:

Here’s everything we spotted in GTA 6 Trailer 2.

Cars Closer Than Ever to Real Life

As the trailer opens, we see some classic GTA car brands, including Vapid, but later in the trailer, we see that Rockstar Games is once again imitating life with art, moving closer to real-world car brands than ever before.

In the image above, you can see Porsche, Lamborghini, and Mercedes replicated almost inch for inch in GTA 6.

Potential Weight Gain and Loss Mechanics

At the start of GTA 6 Trailer 2, we see Jason sporting a rocking bod, and later on, he’s working out in an outdoor gym. This could be a nod to players being able to alter their physical strength and appearance by frequenting a gym.

This mechanic hasn’t been seen in the world of Grand Theft Auto since 2004’s GTA San Andreas.

Wonderful Weapons

There are a few firearms front and centre in GTA 6 Trailer 2, including a replication of the MP5, a staple in most shooter titles.

There are also some more ambitious weapons, including an automatic grenade launcher that Lucia wields during a police chase. In a segment showcasing an Ammu-Nation store, many weapons are presented on a display wall, including light machine guns, a range of semi-automatic rifles, handguns, and assault rifles.

Fighting Styles

The ability to learn fighting styles or to compete in a bare-knuckle fighting circuit might be returning in GTA 6. In the second trailer, we see Lucia competing in what looks like an illegal fight, but she’s using some more agile moves.

Again, learning new fighting moves in this way hasn’t been seen since 2004’s GTA San Andreas.

Hideout Customisation

We’ll likely be able to customise our hideouts and safe houses in Grand Theft Auto 6. In a few sequences in GTA 6 Trailer 2, we see Lucia and Jason in the same home, and it evolves throughout the trailer.

At the 1:56 point in the trailer, it looks as though it’s mostly under renovation, but at 2:16, it looks different and more furnished.

Activities as Partners

It looks as though we’ll be able to explore the open world as a duo (Lucia and Jason) and embark on various activities together, rather than just going about missions in Leonida.

In more than one sequence, Lucia and Jason are participating in leisure activities together.

Have Fun Fishing

It’s not strictly shown in the trailer, but Rockstar Games has released an image showing a character fishing.

This could mean that we’ll be able to take to the many waterways around Leonida to partake in a spot of fishing.

Reputation Could Be a Thing

Early in GTA 6 Trailer 2, Jason is hailed and yelled at by a female on the sidewalk. This could be a slight nod to a reputation system existing in the game, with people knowing Jason by appearance.

By way of a response, Jason merely laughs at the woman, showing disinterest and blowing it off as something that happens regularly.

Robberies Are Back

Jason ruthlessly holds up a store clerk in the opening seconds of GTA 6 Trailer 2, showing once again that robberies are back.

This was almost guaranteed from the first trailer, but it’s good to see it make a grand return. It’s a fun (if callous) activity.

Classic Brands are Back

The classic clothing brands we’ve come to associate with Grand Theft Auto are returning in GTA 6. But did we really expect anything different?

In one scene, Jason is wearing an Eris tee, which is a fictional sportswear brand in the GTA universe.

I’ll update this breakdown as I find more from the GTA 6 Trailer 2 release.
