In the latest episode of Tarkov TV, Battlestate Games’ Nikita Buyanov revealed an updated roadmap that uncovered intentions to release Escape from Tarkov 1.0 later this year. This is the long-awaited full release of the game that will bring the game out of beta after almost a decade.
This year will be huge for Escape from Tarkov, which Nikita dubbed the ‘King of Extraction Shooters’ during the recent Tarkov TV episode.
After All This Time
Escape from Tarkov has had a tenuous relationship with the community for many years. The plagues of cheaters, unwanted changes, and sometimes a bit of radio silence have meant that fans are often displeased with what they’re getting, but the Tarkov addiction remains strong, and the players stick with it – for the most part.
This year, Battlestate Games intends to push Escape from Tarkov into a 1.0 state, releasing the game in full and officially stripping the ‘beta’ categorisation from the product.
Here’s the full roadmap revealed by Battlestate during Tarkov TV:

There is a ton of fixes and optimisation updates coming this year, building on the changes already made to maps like Customs and Shoreline in recent months. The team is keen to sharpen AI interactions and audio mechanics this year.
In May and June, there will be major in-game events, leading to the in-game patch in August – 16.9.0 – which will host the biggest event of the year. It hasn’t been noted when the next Tarkov wipe will be, but we can estimate it’ll arrive in August.
