The Legend of Zelda: Which Games of the Franchise are the Best?

The Legend of Zelda has a vast timeline, which branches into multiple different universes. People are constantly wondering which part of the timeline will the next game be on. Fans have always had something to look forward to.

The game’s unique gameplay and puzzle-solving have always been a selling point, as people continue to play newer AND older games.

So which Zelda games are the best?

6. Majora’s Mask

A race against time itself is what made Majora’s Mask such a legendary title in the Zelda franchise. Literally having a time limit to complete temples and more, this game held the stakes higher than fans thought they could ever go. Now, Majora’s Mask still holds up as one of the greats as it is playable on the Nintendo Switch Online.

Majora’s Mask has stood the test of time as one of the greatest Zelda games ever made.

5. The Legend of Zelda

Number five on our list of the six best Zelda games goes to the original The Legend of Zelda. It was released on the NES in 1986 and was an instant hit. The game was a massive open-world 2D adventure, something few games had done already. The game paved the way for all the amazing Zelda games we have now.

The Legend of Zelda will always hold a prominent place in the history of gaming.

4. The Wind Waker

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was released on GameCube, marking a historic point in Zelda history. The RPG put players in an unusual version of Hyrule. In The Wind Waker, Link has to navigate through a vast ocean, using a magical baton that controls the wind. The game has various monsters to fight and quite an amount of challenging puzzles to solve.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was a fresh breath of air for Zelda fans when it was first released, and still holds up as one of the best Zelda games ever made.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was one of those games that was released on both the GameCube AND Wii. Not only was this the first Zelda title that used the infamous Wii Remote, but it was also one of the darkest Zelda games. Link, who could transform into a wolf when in the world of Twilight, had to save Hyrule before it was engulfed in Twilight.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the darker and more emotional titles within the Zelda franchise, making it number three on our list.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Released for the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild quickly became a legend within the gaming community. Breath of the Wild featured the series’ first fully open-world title since the original game was released in 1986.
