During The Game Awards, J.J. Abrams and Mike Booth took to the stage to reveal 4:Loop, an all-new title that builds on decades of game-making experience. The ambitious post-apocalyptic shooter boasts a cooperative foundation, where players assume control of exo-suited survivors fighting back against their oppressors.
The game’s first trailer provided a tongue-in-cheek explanation of the game’s core operating loop, which revolves around dying over and over again in an attempt to become the ‘world-saving team humanity needs you to be.’
Fail to Save The World
The premise of 4:Loop is that players must die over and over again to continually improve and overcome dire circumstances. That’s the gist of the game’s first trailer, which was revealed during The Game Awards by Mike Booth and J.J. Abrams.
It was a little more than a week ago that Mike Booth’s new game was discussed, following on from the creator’s comments in the summer about taking all he’d learned from Left 4 Dead and applying it to a new project. We now know that the project in question is 4:Loop, a time-bending adventure.

While not much has been revealed beyond the core gameplay principles, 4:Loop is being pieced together by developers with some solid chops and legs in the game, so we can hope for the best.
