After five years out of the Counter-Strike scene, 100 Thieves could be making a major comeback to the community. In recent reports, it was suggested that the organization has signed Havard ‘rain’ Nygaard, one of the most recognizable CS competitors and a veteran of FaZe Clan.
In 2020, 100 Thieves backed out of Counter-Strike, citing widespread instability in the esports space. This came years before Nadeshot, the founder of 100 Thieves, claiming that if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn’t get involved in esports.

In multiple reports, it has been claimed that 100 Thieves have signed rain, a decorated veteran of the Counter-Strike space, as the leader of a new CS2 roster that also includes GamerLegion talent. This could mark an anticipated return for 100 Thieves, which last fielded a CS roster in 2019.
There’s no better leader to build a roster around than Havard ‘rain’ Nygaard, a player who boasts one of the longest and most legendary tenures in Counter-Strike history. This could be a lucrative move for 100 Thieves, an organization that has become a figurehead of the esports industry over the last few years. In other areas, 100 Thieves hasn’t been so successful of late, failing to hit the nail on the head in VALORANT through 2025 and preparing to pull out of League of Legends after Worlds.
The 100 Thieves Call of Duty roster, LA Thieves, is preparing to enter the 2026 Call of Duty League season with one hell of a roster, though.
