Several new reports have claimed that Activision games will start to come to Xbox Games Pass in August.
The first claim came courtesy of eXtas1s on the eXputer forums (who has admittingly a rough track record), but WindowsCentral’s Jez Corden has corroborated the rumor.
According to eXtas1s, the Tony Hawk 1+2 remake and the Spyro Reignited Triology will also be coming to the subscription service in the near future. Subsequently, in Corden’s report, he also outlines that he understands Microsoft’s strategy isn’t to release all of Actvision’s back catalog at once but rather drip feed it into the platform.
One question for me, though, and presumably for many people, is when old Call of Duty games will come into service. It’s something that fans have wanted since the acquisition was finalized and it at the very least would reignite arguably some of the best Call of Duty games ever to release.
But for now, at least, fans have the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to look forward to. The game was the best-selling game for eight consecutive weeks in the United Kingdom following its release and has been estimated to have sold 20 million units worldwide as of June 2024.

They need to bring back Vicarious Visions and give them the Tenchu, Kameo, Conker, Banjo, Mech Assault, Brute Force, Jet Force Gemini, Tony Hawk, True Crime, and Prototype IP to remake. They need to make a new Prototype and a new True Crime and hire the Big Red Button team to make a new Crash game and Spyro. Get the DC license or Image Comics licenses for games get Treyarch back in the superhero game.
Vicarious Visions was merged into Activision in 2022 so the team no longer exists
Great… More 20 year old games. Can’t wait. /s
Why can’t they make actual new games like these? Not everything has to be AAA, but the huge amount of “indie” shovelware mobile games mixed with all these “remakes” of ancient stuff and a real game with any actual effort put into it only comes along a few times a year. It really just doesn’t cut it. Gaming is in a sad state. Hope it can come back sometime soon.
Small correction: Windows Central’s report is from Samuel Tolbert, not Jez Corden 🙂
