It was a big weekend for esports recently, with RLCS 2024 and The International 2024 (T113) taking place. With some of the best teams in the Dota 2 esports world competing against one another, who ended up coming out in first place during the large event?
The International 2024: Who Won the Tournament?
Taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, The International 2024, otherwise known as TI13, already cemented its spot in history as one of the craziest Dota 2 tournaments of all time.
With a $2,602,164 prize pool, fans witnessed some of the most competitive Dota 2 play ever seen.
The tournament had 16 teams participating, all of who qualified during the last year of the Dota 2 competition. Only one team, however, was able to come out first.
So, who won The International 2024 tournament? Team Liquid ended up winning the entire TI13 series, breaking the second-place curse.

The International 2024 First-Place Winnings
Not only did Team Liquid walk away with the first-place Trophy, but the popular esports team also won $1,170,965. This was a whopping 45% of the prize pool. Second place, however, was awarded $364,305. The prize was absurdly large due to the fact that Valve donated some of the profits it made from in-game purchases to the prize pool.
So, who got second place? Gaimin Gladiators, who just got first in the Riyadh Masters, placed second in The International 2024. While this is a huge feat for the team, there is still a bit of bitterness in the placement, since they also got second place last year.
Will 2025 be the team’s first-place year? Or will they barely fall short just again? Team Liquid ended up winning this year, 3-0, sweeping Gaimin Gladiators out of the competition.
