Who Made Star Wars Outlaws? – Answered

There’s a serious amount of marketing surrounding Star Wars Outlaws, alongside name recognition. It’s the first-ever open-world single-player Star Wars game, as we cannot forget the beloved Star Wars Galaxies, and it’s making waves for many reasons. Some of them are good, some of them bad. Who is the Developer of Star Wars Outlaws?

Overall, Massive Entertainment handles the development of Star Wars Outlaws. But they’re not the only team working on the game. Ubisoft isn’t pulling any punches, and they’re certainly not taking any chances with the IP, so they have more than ten internal studios working on the game alongside Lucasfilm Games. It’s a massive undertaking and one we hope pays off. However, the early reception to Star Wars Outlaws appears mixed at best. You might know Massive Entertainment for their work on the following titles:
  • The Division
  • The Division 2
  • World in Conflict
Supposedly, they’re pulling from what they learned in The Division and its sequel, The Division 2, to help create the world and gameplay mechanics in Star Wars Outlaws. We previously saw a cover system in the latter that resembles the one in The Division franchise. Related: Is Star Wars Outlaws Coming to Game Pass? – Answered

What Will Star Wars Outlaws Be On?

Now that we know its developer let’s take a gander at the supported systems for Star Wars Outlaws, namely:
  • PC
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
Like many other developers, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment ultimately decided not to support last-gen systems like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Both consoles have lived well past the usual shelf life for gaming systems, and many want to look toward current-gen hardware and future potential.

When Can You Play Star Wars Outlaws?

You can officially play Star Wars Outlaws on August 30. However, if you purchase the Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, or subscribe to Ubisoft+, you can play the game three days earlier than everyone who buys the Standard Edition.
