With the return of Verdansk, Warzone is also receiving some exclusive movement changes in Season 3.
The ModernWarzone account on X recently posted about Warzone Season 3’s upcoming movement changes. The newly released ominmovement mechanics will inspire the upcoming system, but the feel will be tweaked for Warzone. The fine-tuning will help players feel “closer to the original experience” when looking at things like pacing and gameplay.
During the latest episode of CODPOD, the developers also discussed the changes to movement and pacing in Warzone’s Season 3. The developers have stated that when Verdansk returns, players will find a new movement system built just for Warzone. The developers prioritised the battle royale experience when creating this system and wanted to ensure that the movement “feels right” in the battle royale version of the game.
The developers added that they “love the predictability in the combat scenarios” with the movement and wanted to provide “all of the agency that Omnimovement gives you” with the tuning remaining unique to Warzone. Omnimovement is the new system that arrived with Call of Duty Black Ops 6, which allowed players to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction, changing their tactical approach to situations.
