Tips for Stealth in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 – Top Guide

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll often need to go unnoticed, sneaking around in places you shouldn’t be. It can be a tough task in some missions, with guards actively seeking to ruin your explorative activities by plunging a sword through you. With that in mind, I’ve assembled a quickfire guide full of tips for stealth and sneaking in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Before long, you’ll be a shadow, moving around the maps of Trosky and Kuttenberg without being seen by any guard, regardless of the sharpness of their eyes and ears.

Best Tips for Sneaking in KCD2

As someone who has played around 100 hours of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, here are my top tips for stealth in the game.

Wait Until Nighttime

It might sound obvious, but waiting until nighttime to do something stealthy is always the better option. At night, towns and settlements are silent, everyone is sleeping, there are fewer guards, and you are less likely to be spotted moving around, even in the open.

Dress Appropriately

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, what you wear determines how successful you are at sneaking. Every outfit has a ‘Conspicuousness’ and ‘Noise’ rating, and the higher these numbers are, the more likely you are to be heard or seen. For instance, if you try sneaking around in heavy plate armour, you’ll be rattling like nobody’s business and you’ll be heard a mile off.

With that in mind, always carry an outfit that you can ‘quick-switch’ to at the press of a button. You’ll want something light, loose, and dark – black clothing is best. Make sure you’re wearing soft shoes and that you have as little armour as possible before trying to sneak around.

Get a Dagger

Without a dagger, you can’t perform stealth kills in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. You can get a dagger from many of the game’s traders, blacksmiths, or on the bodies of bandits. Having a dagger is always of the utmost importance in this game, as many forced stealth sequences require you to swiftly eliminate sleeping or unaware enemies.

Talking of daggers, you’ll need one to eliminate the guards at Canker’s Camp in a later mission…

Use the Rocks

When you’re sneaking, you can throw a small rock to distract enemies. It’s not the most elegant solution and you need to throw the rocks quite close to the enemy for it to work, but you can surely lead someone away from a door or a staircase by doing this. If you need to get somewhere blocked by an enemy, just toss a rock and lure them away.

Level Up Your Charisma

By levelling up your charisma and speech-related skills and perks, you can talk your way out of trouble if you’re caught sneaking around. If a guard catches you in a private area, you’ll be able to use the gift of the gab to talk them down. Even if you’re caught lockpicking, Henry will often have a swift excuse planned and ready to go – provided you have enough charisma to convince the guard.

Drink Potions

Some potions will help you with sneaking and stealth in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. For instance, there’s Padfoot, which increases your stealth abilities (lockpicking, sneaking, pickpocketing, etc). Also, you can down a bottle of Nighthawk for better night vision, which will allow you to see enemies long before they see you.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, stealth is inevitable, but with these top tips, you’ll be sneaking around like nobody’s business in no time at all.
