The Walking Dead: Destinies Will Release November 17th

The Walking Dead: Destinies boasts a unique and intriguing concept, but only time will tell how it actually plays out on-screen. Developed by Flux Games (Cobra Kai, Trench Unlimited) and published by GameMill (Nick Kart Racers 3, Nerf Legends, Big Buck Hunter), TWD: Destinies allows players and fans of the franchise to alter the history of the television series – and it’s being released worldwide on November 17th.

However, based on early impressions, there are tentative expectations for TWD: Destinies. It’s an ambitious concept being delivered by a developer that hasn’t done much to write home about. It might be a bold premise that’ll allow fans to revisit some of their favourite moments from the history of AMC’s The Walking Dead, but will it be a hit or succumb to an outbreak of awful reviews?

TWD: Destinies Changes Fate

It’s a solid idea, right? We’ve all wanted to change some of the storylines present in The Walking Dead, for better or worse, and Destinies allows us to do just that. Here’s the description taken straight out from the promotional platform for the game:

Play as Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma to find his world forever changed. Fight walkers, relive iconic moments from the hit television series and change the fate of “The Walking Dead” universe as your choices separate heroes from villains and the living from the dead.

On the surface, it sounds great, and the likenesses of characters from the television series have been faithfully recreated by Flux Games. But, based on the scenes outlined in an early reveal trailer, some prospective players aren’t getting excited too soon:

The Walking Dead: Destinies will be released on November 17th, 2023, and then we’ll all get a first-hand look at how it plays out. It’s being released on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Steam, and on all platforms, it’ll carry a price tag of $49.99.

If nothing else, it looks like a great little zombie survival game, charging players with managing their settlement, scavenging for resources, and making the tough choices that could have dramatic implications on the run of the story. It’ll feature all of the most recognisable characters from the television show and it’ll reportedly take players from Atlanta to the Greene Farm and beyond, to the Prison and then Woodbury.

Being a huge fan of The Walking Dead, I’m quietly optimistic and eager to experience the game for myself when it launches on November 17th.
