The Rogue Prince of Persia Early Access Release Delayed Because of Hades 2

In a new post on Steam, Evil Empire announced that The Rogue Prince of Persia will delay its Early Access release date until later this month.

The original EA release date was set for May 14, 2024. Since the delay appears relatively small, Evil Empire was able to confirm that it will announce a new release date on Monday, May 13.

Today’s Steam post takes a lighthearted tone, explaining that “everyone and their mum” is playing Hades 2 right now.

Hades 2 launched into Early Access on May 6 to enormous success. It currently boasts “Overwhelmingly Positive” ratings on Steam. And Evil Empire points out that Hades 2 is also in the same genre as its new Prince of Persia game.

The devs add that a delay will let them “keep polishing up the game, add even more cool things and kick some stubborn bugs out.” Evil Empire also included an apology for the delay, even though it won’t be long.

Insider Gaming revealed The Rogue Prince of Persia in an exclusive last month, albeit without a release date. Evil Empire later officially announced the game with a new trailer during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is an indie spin on the classic IP, and centers on saving Persia from a Hun invasion.

Prince of Persia fans are also looking forward to the Sands of Time Remake, which Insider Gaming recently learned exclusive details about.

  • It’s a fair decision. Hades 2 is widly more anticipated than this game and it would definitely be overshadowed. Giving more time for people to play through Hades 2 would hopefully give it more of a chance going forward.
