The Last of Us Season 2 will be released on April 13, 2025, and will consist of seven episodes.
According to a report by Variety, HBO announced The Last of Us Season 2’s release date and episode yesterday. The upcoming season will consist of seven episodes adapting the story of the second game from Naughty Dog’s series. It was revealed in a report earlier this month that each episode “packs quite a wallop,” and it is likely that the “story will extend past a Season 3.”
The Last of Us Season 1 covered the entire first game of the series, so it will be interesting to see how Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann will divide the events from the second game across multiple seasons. However, the showrunners have reduced the number of episodes from 9 in Season 1 to 7 in Season 2. The creators will also mess around with time and how things are placed in a way that is appropriate for the show.
The latest trailer for The Last of Us Season 2 featured new cast members for popular characters from the second game, such as Isabela Merced as Dina and Kaitlyn Dever as Abby. The trailer also included some intense sequences with hordes of the infected creating havoc in different locations, like the camp, abandoned subway station, and more.
In other news, Shuhei Yoshida thought The Last of Us Online was great when he played it. Also, check out Sony’s new immersive concept showcase for Last of Us. Will you watch when The Last of Us Season 2 releases on April 13? Let us know in the comments or on our community forum!
