The Last of Us Multiplayer Image Leaks Online

Following the news of its cancellation, a new image of The Last of Us Multiplayer has leaked online.

The image was uploaded to ResetEra by Dusk Gollum, which revealed what the main menu image would have looked like. Mirrors of the leaked image have been reuploaded to Twitter.

The menu reveals that the game was set to have what’s to be expected of a live service game, a ‘bunk’, which presumably would be your armory/cosmetic section as well as a Battle Pass.

It was announced yesterday that The Last of Us Multiplayer is canceled.

“We realize many of you have been anticipating news around the project that we’ve been calling The Last of Us Online,” the statement reads.

“There’s no easy way to say this: We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to stop development on that game.”

“In ramping up to full production, the massive scope of our ambition became clear,” they said.

“So, we had two paths in front of us: become a solely live service games studio or continue to focus on single-player narrative games that have defined Naughty Dog’s heritage.”

What do you think about The Last of Us Multiplayer being canceled? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Absolutely horrible. The original Factions MPO game was good but full of problems. The fans were counting on this to be its redemption in so many ways. Now it’s dead. Pitty.

  • Looks like I’ll just have to carry on with factions which is a shame as to how many people cheat on it! Was so looking forward to the new multiplayer from naughty dog, guess they’re just not up to it!
    Quitters never win…

  • What annoys me is they originally pitched this as a free add-on for TLOU2 to follow shortly after the single player game. I bought it mainly for that reason as I’m mostly into competitive multiplayer.

A year or so later they announce the project had grown in a scope and would now be a standalone game. Kind of annoyed by that, but fine, if it’s going to be a far more ambitious version of factions – which was already pretty damn unique and ambitious to begin with – I guess I can live with that.

Now here we are a few more years after that and they’re telling me the game I paid $60 for many years ago that I was expecting to be playing many years ago will never see the light of day.

  • They messed this up big with the new season of the TV show coming out this could have been a great game. Naughty dog should be ashamed of themselves for leading us on for years

Ubisoft Is Finally Taking The Crew Offline

The Crew was released way back in 2014, emerging as this wondrous racing game with an ambitious premise – the map was designed to represent the entire breadth of the United States. It wasn’t terrible, but ultimately, it didn’t move mountains. That didn’t stop Ubisoft from creating two more titles in the series, including the […]
