One of the biggest esports tournaments of the year is just around the corner. The International 2024 has quite a few gamers talking already, as the Dota 2 competition has been around for years now, with some of the largest prize pools in gaming. The International 2024 Dates
The popular tournament series begins in just a few days, as players from all around the world are making their way to Denmark, where the competition will be held inside Royal Arena.

- September 4 – September 15, 2024

- Group Stage:
- September 4 – September 5, 2024
- Seeding Decider:
- September 6 – September 7, 2024
- Playoffs:
- September 8 – September 10, 2024
- Finals:
- September 13 – September 15, 2024
Format
The format for the event will include 16 teams participating, six of them being invited and 10 teams from regional qualifiers. Each event during The International 2024 will have a bit different format. Here is a breakdown:
- Group Stage:
- Teams split into four groups (four teams each).
- All matches are best-of-two.
- The top teams from each group will choose to match with an opposing team from either 3rd or 4th place in the opposite groups.
- Seeding Decider:
- All 16 teams compete against each other, playing eight best-of-three matches to determine the main event bracket placement.
- Playoffs:
- All 16 teams play in a double-elimination bracket, with eight teams in the Upper bracket and the other eight in the Lower bracket.
- All games are best-of-three.
- Finals:
- Final two teams compete against each other. Games are best-of-five.
Prize Pool
The International 2024 has a prize pool totaling $2,357, 997 USD. The prize pool started at $1,600,000, but Valve also included an additional 25% of Compendium sales to the prizing, adding the extra $757,997.
As of now, the actual prize pool breakdown has not been revealed.
