In a new post on X today, Nexon announced that the anticipated Week 5 Update for The First Descendant will now release early on July 31, 2024.
Nexon originally planned to release the update just a day later on August 1, 2024. So, it isn’t arriving much earlier than previously expected, but the move can still be rare.
Also, Nexon further revealed a look at the Ult Valby cosmetic. The footage was purely cinematic and did not include any new gameplay. As seen in today’s brief teaser, the Ult Valby has a more suggestive look than previous cosmetics.
The Week 5 update will introduce new Descendants, gear, balancing changes, and more. Nexon recently teased an image of Luna via X, a new descendant described as a “buff-type supporter” who uses music for their special abilities.
Nexon elaborated on the Week 5 update with an official preview yesterday. There will be a new Peace Mediator weapon, Arche Concretion module, the “mutated Devourer-type Gluttony,” and more.
The First Descendant recently faced some fan backlash over similarities to Destiny 2 imagery. However, the developers promptly issued a clear response, and committed to adjustments for related content.
Nexon also recently announced that the new third-person looter shooter reached 10 million players across all platforms in a single week.
The First Descendant first launched just weeks ago, and is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
