Team Rocket Returns to Pokémon TCG with Upcoming Destined Rivals Set

Pokémon TCG has just announced a brand new set for May 30, 2025, Destined Rivals, and it will see the return of Team Rocket in the real-life card game. 

Will You Join the Trainers or Team Rocket?

Pokémon TCG has just announced the Scarlet & Violet Destined Rivals expansion for the game, and it will introduce some of the most iconic members of Team Rocket and their Pokémon to the game. Players can either join the side of Trainers like Cynthia and Garchomp ex, Ethan and Ho-Oh ex, and Arven and Mabosstiff ex or go to the dark side and join hands with Giovanni and his Mewtwo ex. 

Pokemon TCG’s Destined Rivals set will introduce over 240 cards to the game, which include over 85 Trainer’s Pokémon and over 45 Team Rocket’s Pokémon. Players should expect more than 15 Pokémon Ex and 20 Trainer Cards. Lastly, more than 45 Pokémon and Trainer cards will feature special illustrations. 

Journey Together Expansion Arrives This Week

Pokémon TCG’s next set will arrive right on time after players have had their fill with the Journey Together expansion. Journey Together is a new expansion from the Scarlet and Violet series, releasing March 28, 2025. The latest expansion will feature over 180 cards, with popular Trainer’s Pokémon like N’s Zoroark, N’s Reshiram and more. 

In other news, Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Shining Revelry expansion finally adds shiny Pokémon to the game. Also, TCG Pocket’s finally has a competitor, Digimon Alysion. What are your thoughts on Pokémon TCG’s Destined Rivals set? Let us know in the comments or on our community forum!
