Tarkov Players Are Compensated For ‘Profile Wipe’ Error, But It’s Still No Good

Battlestate Games has confirmed that only a portion of players were impacted by the recent ‘profile reset’ malfunction. Those who were hit by the ‘accidental wipe’ have been compensated in-game with a substantial amount of money and boosts to their skills, but ultimately, they’re still without the progress they’ve accrued over the last six months, which for some equals hundreds of hours of play.

Just Wipe

Here’s what Battlestate Games handed down instead of an apology for this devastating malfunction:

  • 100 million Roubles
  • 50,000 USD
  • 50,000 EUR
  • All Labs keycards
  • 4 x Money Case
  • DSPT
  • Reserve Marked Keys
  • All skills LL45
  • All Traders maxed

Even the compensation is now causing issues, as some players were wiped with a low-level, low-tier account and have now been granted an utter bounty in-game.

Regardless of it being merely a week or two from ‘wipe’, it’s a huge imbalance that is having an impact on the game even now. The in-game trading system is in tatters as everything has become monumentally expensive.

It’s unclear how many players were impacted, as Battlestate Games hasn’t been transparent about the issue – nor did the company apologise for the loss. Ironically, many players have expressed their dismay at the compensation, stressing that they’d rather have had their account wiped if this is the reward for having that happen.
