Battlestate Games has confirmed that Escape from Tarkov’s newest (and toughest) map, The Labyrinth, will be staying in the rotation after the current in-game event is over. It was thought to be a limited-time special, but it has proven to be so popular that Battlestate Games will keep it in the map pool.
Unfortunately, the trade-off is that this incredibly difficult map will now be more difficult to access. The valuable loot spawns are also being nerfed, and getting the Labrys keycards to access the location will be a little tougher.
Bigger Challenge
The Labyrinth has been one of the most widely appreciated events in recent Escape from Tarkov history. It posed a nice challenge for the more talented players, but it was also a fair chunk of easy experience points and some neat rewards for the newer, less-skilled players across PvE and PvP.
On social media, Battlestate Games revealed a bunch of information about the changes coming to Escape from Tarkov around The Labyrinth:
- The Labyrinth location will remain accessible after the event is over, however the access to it will be more difficult
- All event tasks will remain available after the event is over (except Ref’s tasks)
- Access to Lightkeeper will remain available for players who received the transmitter during the event
- The event achievements will become unavailable for obtaining after the event is over.
- Simplified access to Lightkeeper will be disabled after the event is over; unlocking the trader will only be possible using the standard means
- Labrys keycards will be available only through Therapist and Ragman barters
- Shadow of Tagilla and his guards spawn chance will be reduced on the location
- Valuable loot spawn chance will be reduced on the location
- After the wipe, the event posters will be available only after completing the related tasks
- The Minotaur’s Lair Hideout customization style will only be available to players who have obtained the Dungeon Master achievement
If you’ve not completed The Labyrinth yet, you’ve got until April 21 to do so. Best of luck – you’re going to need it.
